Summer Sun Safety

We all want beautiful healthy skin, but sunburn can cause wrinkles, dark spots and skin cancer.

What is sunburn?

A skin irritation or damage from overexposure to sun or Ultraviolet Light (UV light).

How do you avoid sunburn?

We suggest trying to avoid being in the sun during peak hours. The sun usually peaks between 10AM-2PM. We also suggest always wearing SPF 50+ before going outdoors, sitting in locations with shade when possible, and protecting your eyes with sunglasses.

How do you treat sunburn?

You can use ice packs, aloe, moisturizer, or Aveda’s Intense Hydrating Masque to help sooth and treat your sunburn. We also suggest drinking more water due to the fluid being brought to the skins surface and away from the body. This will help replenish your body and your skin heal.
