What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a skin treatment, preformed by a trained professional. They use a surgical blade to slowly and safely remove dead skin, scar tissue, vellus hair (peachpuzz), and environmental pollutants. Most people don’t know Dermaplaning is a full facial service! It begins with a cleanser and toner then moves on to the Dermaplaning. The service finishes with a masque, serum and moisturizer!

Will my hair come back thicker, faster or darker?

No it does not! Shaving hair does not change the thickness, color or rate of growth. If you look at the diagram below, it shows that shaving gives a blunt tip to the hair. This may give the appearance of more coarse, darker hair but it is not! Your facial hair is also finer so it is unnoticeable!

Is there any post treatment or downtime?

There is no downtime after your Dermaplaning appointment! You may be a little pink immediately after but this will quickly go away. Your vellus hair (peach fuzz) and dead skin cells will form 3-6 weeks after the initial treatment. Since your peach fuzz acts as a protective barrier you must be sure to always wear sunscreen after the treatment! But without that protective barrier, your products will penetrate better, giving you better results.

How long does it take?

Our dermaplaning service lasts around 60 minutes, but can be added to any facial service for an additional 30 minutes.
